I am so much into home-made jam lately. I have never made it before, and I didn’t expect it to be so easy to make!
Why, you may ask… well because I can control the amount of sugar that gets thrown into my jam.
A store-bought jam bottle usually contains 50-50 sugar-fruit. My jam? 500 grams of fruit – max 1 tbsp of sugar!
🍒 500 gr fruit of choice
🍒 1/4 cup water
🍒 sugar of choice. I use 0 calorie sugar max 1 tbsp
🍒 (Optional) 1/2 tsp citric acid
1. Slice fruits into smaller pieces and place them in a pan. Add the water.
2. Boil on low heat until soft and then soften with a fork.
3. Add the sugar and/or citric acid to taste.
4. Once thick, remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring it into a clean jar.
Fruits I have used:
🍓 Strawberries, fresh, sliced, + citric acid
🍇 Blueberries, frozen, not sliced
🍑 Plums, fresh, sliced, +citric acid
🍍 Pineapple, fresh, grated
🍒 Mixed berries, frozen
This recipe yields one jar (pictured).
